Shaper

All-land Content Management

Shaper is the Officity content management application. Thanks to its flexible and relational data architecture, Shaper can be used to configure and manage any project structure, from the simplest to the most complex. The user determines the tree structure of objects, which he or she can then manipulate, format and publish.

Shaper offers a user-friendly and effective interface, opening up the Sushee Framework functionalities to all users, with no need for specialist technical knowledge.

Multilingual

Shaper offers native multilingual content management, with the possibility of activating publication languages at any time via the configuration. The content encoding tool allows multiple languages to be published in parallel for translation, comparison, copying/pasting, and so on.

Multi-channel

Separate management of substance (content) and style (graphic representation) allows multiple usage of the same content: a traditional Internet site, a site optimised for PDAs and GSMs, RSS flows, dynamic PDFs, CD-ROM applications, SMS/MMS gateways, and much more.

Multi-project

Shaper can be used to manipulate all kinds of objects: menus, pages, paragraphs, news, products, videos, photo albums, etc. up to the required level of abstraction. It also allows you to create multiple sites (targeted by profile, customer, member, employee, etc.), an Intranet, Extranet, image base, and so on.

Tables

Shaper offers a simple, fast and incredibly effective solution for publishing your data tables: publish them in your usual spreadsheet application (Excel or Open Office), link the file directly in a page and that’s it!

Workflow

The Workflow is used to validate content between different contributors before publication. Shaper offers a simple and effective workflow distributed between the four key roles of author, reviser, translator and editor.

Versioning

Shaper includes a versioning system for each content object, in each language and with no constraints. An object can therefore have different drafts and submitted, corrected, published, archived or unpublished versions depending on the language.

Independence of substance/style

Your communication needs and technologies generally develop at a far faster pace than information. That’s why it’s important to pay particular attention to ensuring maximum independence between content and its graphic representation, or substance and style, in order to adapt your tools rather than your content and so guarantee the longevity of your information.

Styled text

Styled text refers to text which has been allocated a formal description via a style sheet. It is more professional text formatting.

The advantages of structural content are based directly on the principle of style sheets: independence of substance and style, graphic control and the durability and portability of the styled content.

Advanced search

Shaper makes finding information child’s play. The entire navigation architecture is based on simple searches which you can expand at any time to create multi-criteria, multi-layer advanced searches based on logical operators, exclusions and the persons associated with the content.

In addition, the content of each PDF, Microsoft Word (doc), Excel, RTF, text and XML file entered in your content will automatically be indexed!

Flash video

With a natural focus on Flash technologies, Nectil has developed a unique CuePoint (key points in the playback of a video) management tool which can be used to manage all kinds of events to enhance your films. You can trigger the appearance of visuals, videos, sounds, text and actions at very specific moments as well as position them, assign transitions, split them into chapters, etc.

General PDF printing

Shaper contains a system of templates which can be used to generate PDF files based on any content, content list or even tree structure. The PDF generation function can be accessed rapidly in the interface but can also be carried out from your site for visitors.

Advanced security for Data/Information Layers/Users/Teams

Shaper benefits from the entire Sushee Framework access architecture. You can determine as many access profiles as you wish, from general (full access) to highly detailed. These profiles can be shared by multiple users via sets of keys.

XLIFF workflow

Do you work with external translators? Shaper offers integrated management of external translation flows via the XLIFF standard adopted by the biggest names in the IT world.

Import/Export/Archives

The data manipulated by Shaper is managed in full transparency by the Sushee Framework in XML format. You can import any type of data in CSV (spreadsheet) or XML format and export data at any time. Shaper can also be used to download archives in all languages, as well as any linked files in their actual tree structure.

Flattener

Shaper incorporates a tool that can be used to create static versions of your projects at any time for use offline, for archiving or even to publish your site in a static format in order to deal with significant load increases or on a third-party server with limited functionalities.

Categorisation in tree structures

Content categorisation is essential to guarantee logical and effective access and to have a powerful profiling tool. Shaper incorporates an open tree structure categorisation system which can be configured at any time via a special application. Once they have been categorised, your databases can be manipulated with great flexibility, with powerful multi-criteria searches associated with inheritance.

Automated graphics tools

Simply configuring data is not enough for Shaper. Officity incorporates tools for manipulating automated images. Once your project has been created, you simply need to apply a specific scenario to your images to ensure they have the precise characteristics required for publication: size, colour, format, clarity, composition, designs, masks, etc.

Statistics

An essential indicator for assessing projects, Officity statistics provide all the information you need to ensure effective management of content - as cash, percentages and comparative variations over time. A complete tool in its own right, the implementation process for Stats is completely automated and transparent.

XML & InDesign export

Shaper has been designed to be able to extract any content for use in a pre-press production line. XML InDesign© export therefore allows you to import your content to an InDesign template. The content is then automatically formatted using style sheets.
